Management Team


IET's team has extensive and wide-ranging experience well-suited to helping clients characterize and correct indoor environmental problems. Our diverse background includes expertise in areas of industrial hygiene, construction, water damage restoration, building science, building defect investigation, industry standards development, insurance and litigation support and many other indoor environmental quality related areas.

Will Spates President
With over 30 years experience in the operation, maintenance, testing and design of environmental systems, Mr. Spates, president of Indoor Environmental Technologies, Inc., is well qualified for the investigation of building-related environmental issues. He has conducted hundreds of commercial and residential inspections, as well as consulted with clients on construction and remodeling strategies to create healthy homes and offices. He has taught indoor environmental testing techniques at the International Institute for Bau-biologie & Ecology in Clearwater, FL. He has taught mold building remediation to restoration contractors, public health officials and other professionals throughout the country for the Institute of Cleaning and Restoration Certification and the Indoor Air Quality Association. In addition, he offers environmental consulting and testing services for indoor environments, as well as seminars on building-related environmental health issues through his business.


William K. Eva Senior Industrial Hygienist
Mr. Eva has his Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) and is a Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional (CIAQP). He holds an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification. He has over 21 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry, which includes 9 years of experience dealing directly with indoor air quality issues involving industrial, health care, residential and commercial facilities.


Don M. Brewer, Jr. Industrial Hygienist
Mr. Brewer has received his Masters degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida and began the doctoral program in Public Health and Industrial Hygiene in the spring of 2003. He has over three years of laboratory research experience in his duties as a graduate teaching assistant, working on projects dealing with the identification and control of water and airborne diseases. He is currently working as an Industrial Hygienist with IET, conducting indoor air quality investigations in residential and commercial buildings.


Timothy D. Toburen CR, CMR, AMRT
Mr. Toburen has more than 30 years experience in restoration services, with expertise in water and fire damage restoration and mold contamination issues. Mr. Toburen has also been involved in instruction of training classes; development of certification programs, exams, and manuals; development of training manuals for the remediation field; and writing and editing industry periodicals. He is highly qualified to estimate and supervise restoration and mitigation projects and teach others to do the same.


Shari Field Office Manager
Ms. Field brings with her more than 25 years of business management experience of which 15 of these have been directly involved in the environmental field. An invaluable IET team member, she is dedicated to understanding and contributing to the betterment of environment health issues.
